Meet our new coach, Sara!

  1. How did you first hear about Results Fitness?

I had a close friend who was part of the Results Fitness team and had nothing but great things to say.

  1. What made you want to work here?

Results Fitness works as a team and cultivates relationships with their clients. I liked the idea of teamwork and recognizing clients’ individual needs. The constant pursuit of continuing education and constant learning also drew me into the environment.

  1. Where can we find you in between training clients?

I love doing leisure activities with friends and getting outside of the gym. I enjoy dance, gymnastics, rock climbing, and have grown increasingly interested in martial arts. In my downtime, you’ll find me at Barnes & Noble. I love reading and music. I’ve played piano since I was 5.

  1. What will we find in your gym bag?

My gym bag always has something new. I try new activities every year. Right now I have some boxing gloves in there. It could be anywhere from a chalk bag for rock climbing to a volleyball. I always have a Perform Better band and a lacrosse ball to make sure that my body is prepared for and cared for before activity.

  1. What do you do when you’re feeling unmotivated to workout?

When I feel unmotivated, I commit to a workout with a friend. I like to think of myself as extremely reliable, so I don’t back out on commitments. I also like to try different activities that require a lot of my body, but are not strictly “workouts”. This can include outdoor activities like hiking, playing a sport, or an active class where you learn a new skill. I become so focused on learning or playing that I don’t even think about the fact that I’m exercising.

  1. When you’re planning out teaching a class, what do you think about?

I think about who I am teaching and what the purpose of the class is. I always want to tailor teaching to the learner. My golden rule is to make it effective and enjoyable.

  1. What is your favorite exercise to do?

The deadlift. It is a big “bang for your buck” functional exercise.

  1. What is your favorite exercise to teach?

The squat.

  1. What will we never find you working out without?

  1. What do you do to relax?

To relax, I spend time with friends and family. When I’m alone, I read with my cat, Dewey, next to me or work on a new piano piece.

  1. What do you tell clients who are intimidated by working with a personal trainer?

I usually start with what specifically intimidates them and try to remind them that everyone at the gym is human and has their own set of insecurities, including coaches.

12. Favorite cheat meal?

Maybe not a meal so to speak, but I really appreciate a red wine paired with the right cheese.

  1. Pre-workout fuel?

Greek Yogurt with an apple or peanut butter

  1. Post-workout fuel?

I love shakes after workouts especially Thinny Mint.

  1. Personal theme song?

“La Vie En Rose”

  1. What did you want to be when you were growing up?

  1. Celebrity doppelgänger?

I’ve been told Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jennifer Lawrence although I don’t really see it.

  1. What celebrity would you love to train and why?

I’d love to train a UFC fighter like Ronda Rousey. Fighters have a particular mindset and the sport requires so much variety in terms of mobility, strength, endurance, and power. All of the variables make for a fun, but intense training program.

  1. What is your favorite song to workout to?

Anything by Rage Against the Machine.

  1. What is the best advice you ever received?

Listen. Listening is an overlooked skill. I worked with a great team in college that regularly did exercises in active listening. We are often thinking of a response while another person is still talking. As a coach, I am constantly working on being the best listener that I can be.
